Escape to Bali
with a whole new energy
When someone drops that they're going on a yoga retreat in Bali, the first word that pops to mind is "Ubud?" But, moving away from the commercialisation of Bali and to the lesser populated area of Canggu awaits a Holistically Zen Retreat encompassing a myriad of healing modalities with yoga as a strong (but not the only) focus. What better place to reconnect to your love and inner light than by disconnecting from the day-to-day and into connecting to some of the most potent energies of the globe.
Reconnecting to source…
It is no accident that Bali is a Mecca for healing. Just as we earthlings have chakras and different energy points, so too does Gaia (earth). Coiled around the globe there are energy lines. These Ley Lines are believed (by many cultures) to contain high-vibrational frequencies, transporting purified energy around the world to mother nature's different chakras and energy vortexes. It is no accident that some of the world's most sacred sites are built at these points of cross over - the Egyptian Pyramids, Macchu Pichu, Stonehenge and Angkor Wat. But Bali is unique. This island is home to the earth's kundalini energy and boasts six separate sites that two powerful Ley Lines pass through.
Bali is the purification centre of the world, working on cleansing and replenishing Gaia's elemental energy. The Uluwatu Temple purifies earth, The Batakau Temple clears water, Mount Batur regenerates fire, Mount Agung renews air, Tirta Empul works on ether, and the final site, Pura Pulaki aids the entire purification process.
…to reconnect to self
Now that you have a little insight into the power of this island, we are ready to share with you how we plan to cultivate a Holistically Zen Retreat. We have intentionally opted to step away from the hustle and bustle of the more popular tourist areas and out of the traditional yoga zone - to create a unique experience that is tailored to reconnection to source and self.
So... are you ready to reconnect to source, to reconnect to self?
Space limited to 16 people.
Are you ready to secure your spot with a deposit of only $250?
In perfect synchronicity
This retreat calls on the teachings of the Yamas and Niyamas (the first two limbs of yoga) - looking at both our external and internal worlds. It wouldn't be a Little Zen Den collaboration without drawing guidance from the lunations during this six-night experience. Our first full day (Day 2) we will honour the full moon in Capricorn with a heart focussed cacao ceremony to awaken your senses and invite you to step into and become more curious and creative from the outset. Kicking the week off with a morning Moon Salutation and vision board activity to connect you to your essence.
Combining Renée's love for movement, breath and mindful teachings, Anne-Marie - founder of Mandala Holistic Therapies, brings a plethora of healing modalities to the table including meditation practices, harnessing energies and walking alongside you on your journey.
Healing holistically in the globe's energy purification centre, you will be guided through balancing your chakras, an array of meditation practices, opportunities to nourish yourself in the Balinese culture and food, moments of play and sacred site visits is what this retreat is all about. One particular and unprecedented site visit we are thrilled to have the permission to bring you is a vinyasa flow from a very unique and sacred site - this is top secret, more details will emerge close to the date.
This retreat is about you cracking yourself open, releasing and emerging anew into the world, so we have made sure we have carved out some time and space for you to break out from the holistically zen community for those all-important moments of self-reflection and realisation (and some shopping, too!).

Renée Meager - Retreat Facilitator
Founder of Little Zen Den, Renée is passionate about working with people wherever they are at. Understanding that the asana (poses) is generally what attracts people to a Yoga class, it is the 'other stuff' people stay for. As described in Patanjali's classification of classic yoga in the Yoga Sutras, Renée's approach, from the outset, is to weave into the physical practice a focus on your internal and external morals, breath and meditation to help turn your focus inward - where the work and awakening come from. Resulting in finding a deeper sense of balance and peace within. Ultimately she aims to consciously guide you to a place where you are elevated to higher states of consciousness.
Looking at movement patterns in the all layers of the body to design a yoga practice that integrates bringing more mindfulness to the physical, emotional, mental, intellectual and energetic body that then opens the door to step into the bliss body.
Trained in Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Nidra and Pre and Post Natal - Renée is a Master Trainer and hosts training and workshops across Australia. Renée has presented internationally and at several conferences in Australia.

What is included in this price?
Across the week, there are activities and classes organised to help you to unwind and take time for just you.
Set on a private estate, away from the hustle and bustle to give you the space to absorb the rays of sun and that will be tied back to the theme Holistically Zen. You will have the opportunity to experience a variety of yoga classes, learn different meditation techniques and take part in an array of workshops. We will be visiting some incredible sights on two separate days and there will be loads of nutritious food.
Why book your retreat with us?
After a lot of research and planning this trip for almost a year (so far), this retreat is like no other. Whilst many yoga retreats will have a yoga class in the morning and night, the days tend to be full of free time and left to your own devices. We have included a range of workshops to unlock energy, potential and emotions that perhaps have been tucked away or hidden. We plan to step into some uncomfortable scenarios to help you with a range of techniques and using a variety of methods to help you find a well rounded and holistic approach to your health and wellness.
Who is leading this retreat?
Retreat Facilitator - Renée Meager
Fearless in stepping into being 100% present with you as she guides you towards a journey to embrace and step into your power as the King or Queen you are!
Read more about Renée here.
What amenities are close by?
Shops, convenience store, beach, transport, bar, café, restaurants, chemist... a full list of nearby amenities will be sent to you closer to the date.
Do I have to pay all at once?
Nope! To reserve your place, you only need to pay the deposit of $250. From there, we will be in contact with you to set up payment arrangements. Either a lump sum or option to pay fortnightly will be given. The balance of the retreat must be paid in full, by Friday 15 May 2020.
How much spending money will I need?
The retreat is all-inclusive, other than a few lunchtime spots that are during your free time. Depending on what you do with your free time and how many presents for those at home, you will only be out of pocket for any additional services (spa packages, one-on-one sessions) and things you want to take home. As a rough guide, we recommend budgeting $30-$50 a day.
Is there any free time or do I have to stay with the group the whole time?
Plenty of free time is built into your week. You will have time to chill by the pool and to explore the surrounding areas including some time to do as you please when we are in Ubud.
What do we do during our free time?
Browse the markets, walk along the beach, go for a massage or facial, book a one-on-one session, read, swim in the pool/beach. The time is yours; you choose!
What happens if I get sick (Bali Belly or other) during the retreat?
We have measures in place to prevent Bali Belly and strongly encourage the use of hand sanitiser and only drinking bottled water (even when brushing your teeth!). If you do get ill, some bed rest, reiki and the nearby chemist are your best bet. Prevention is our aim!
What can I expect at the accommodation?
The private estate is set back from the hustle and bustle and still only a short zip into town. Check out the photos here!
How do room arrangements work?
Coming alone? We will bunk you in with some roomies.
Bringing the bestie? Note in the registration form whom you want to room with.
Want a private room? Select the appropriate box in the registration.
Want to bring the whole gang and share a villa - let us know and we can sort out a group price for groups of 5+.
My friend and I want to share a room, how do we do this?
Yes! Just note whom you want to share with and we will do the rest.
What are the room configurations?
There are 4 share villas that each sleep 3 – 4 people. Then there are 3 private rooms, that sleep, 1-3 people. See the pricing list for your options.
What do I do if my roommate snores?
We know that rooming with new people can have its challenges. We encourage open conversations with your roommate and you are welcome to change bed assignments within your villa. Hot tip – pack earplugs to be safe ;-)
Are all the workshops and classes compulsory?
No. While we recommend attending all sessions to absorb as many benefits and lessons possible – you are at liberty to make your own choices.
What meals are included?
Breakfast and dinner each day along with snacks and water. One lunch meal will be included on our cultural immersion day.
I have dietary requirements; can you cater for these?
Yes, please make sure you outline all dietary requirements and allergies. Including any dislikes (personally, I am looking at you, coriander!).
Is this retreat meat-free / phone free /alcohol-free?
Whilst the menu will be loaded with nutritious and wholesome food, there will be options for carnivores, omnivores and herbivores alike. We will encourage a significant reduction in the use of technology to integrate more presence in the day.
There will also be no restriction on your consumption of any type of food or drink. We encourage you to honour your body and mind and respect the choices of others too.
This retreat is designed to encourage and grow your consciousness and state of being. All things in moderation.
Why are flights not included?
We don’t know where you are coming from and what airline preferences you have. Talk to our handy travel consultant. Nick, who can help you select the best flight for your needs. Or, of course you can DIY on the interwebs.
Should I get travel insurance?
Yes! It is compulsory for you to get Travel Insurance. For more information, you can discuss this with a Travel Agent or good old Google.
How do I get from the airport to the Estate?
There will be 3 shuttle times arranged to take you from the airport to the estate.
In case you are arriving prior to the first day of the retreat, please let us know so
A month prior to the retreat, you will be sent a form to complete with flight details so we can arrange your transport.
